The mission at Netting Hope has always been urgent yet straightforward: to get rid of the barriers preventing urban slum areas of Delhi from defending themselves against such diseases. To equip them with complete end-to-end protection.
This begins with listening. We are conducting an extensive yet simple survey among slum dwellers to identify the significant challenges they face during the monsoons in protecting themselves from mosquito-borne diseases. Based on the study's findings, we will raise capital to address these issues by distributing mosquito nets and citronella spray to slum residents, along with informational flyers that provide further guidance on dos and don'ts related to mosquito breeding, especially during the monsoon season. Moreover, we will use the raised capital to liaise with municipal authorities to repair open, blocked, and malfunctioning drains, a common breeding ground for mosquitoes. With these targeted measures, Netting Hope aims not just to counter but to prevent the devastating effects of poor housing, which lead to mosquito breeding and hence mosquito-borne diseases.
